About Zalando Sans

Zalando Sans is a sans-serif typeface created by Jakob Ekelund, KH Type, and Zalando. Sans-serif fonts lack the small finishing strokes found on serif letters, making them a versatile option for website content, user interfaces, headings, and everyday typography.

This release includes variable and italic variable styles, both listed at weight 400. Variable fonts offer adjustable typographic settings in compatible software, while the italic version provides an alternative for emphasis or visual variety. The available file formats are TTF and WOFF2, supporting use in compatible desktop applications and web projects.

Zalando Sans supports Latin, Latin Extended, and Vietnamese scripts. It is released under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which permits commercial use subject to the license conditions. Preview your own text to evaluate how the typeface fits your design, then select the file format that suits your workflow.

Use Zalando Sans on your website

Copy the CSS below. Option B needs the font files uploaded to a fonts/ folder on your own server first.

Option A: use the font directly from Fonts1 (no upload needed)

@font-face {
  font-family: 'Zalando Sans';
  src: url('https://files.fonts1.com/fonts1/fonts/3095/30702cb533-zalandosans-wdth-wght.woff2') format('woff2');
  font-weight: 400;
  font-style: normal;
  font-display: swap;
}

@font-face {
  font-family: 'Zalando Sans';
  src: url('https://files.fonts1.com/fonts1/fonts/3095/34f59f7ae4-zalandosans-italic-wdth-wght.woff2') format('woff2');
  font-weight: 400;
  font-style: italic;
  font-display: swap;
}

Quickest way to try it. For a busy production site, Option B (your own server) is more reliable.

Option B: self-host (download, then upload to your server)

  src: url('fonts/ZalandoSans-wdth-wght-.woff2') format('woff2');

Fonts that pair well with Zalando Sans

Good design mixes two or three fonts. These are picked from a different style (a clean sans next to a script, a serif next to a sans) so they stay easy to tell apart and cover the same language.
