Copyright / DMCA Policy
Fonts1 respects the rights of font designers, foundries and other creators. We only publish fonts whose license allows redistribution, and we link to the original source for the rest. If you believe a font or other content on this site infringes your copyright, please tell us. This page explains how.
How we handle fonts
Before a font is published, we check its license and record the source. Each font page shows its license, the designer and a link to the original source, and the downloaded package includes the license text. Fonts that cannot be redistributed are not hosted. They appear as link-only entries that point to the official page.
Sending a takedown notice
If you are the copyright owner, or are authorized to act for the owner, send a written notice to [email protected] with the subject line "Copyright notice". Please include:
- your full name, your role and your contact details (email address and, if possible, a postal address or phone number);
- a description of the work you own, such as the name of the font and, if you can, a link to the official page that shows you are the rights holder;
- the web address (URL) of each page on Fonts1 where the material appears;
- a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that, under penalty of perjury, you are the owner or are authorized to act for the owner;
- your physical or electronic signature.
Notices that are missing these details may be delayed while we ask for more information.
What happens next
When we receive a valid notice we will promptly disable access to the material while we look into it. We may contact the person who supplied the font, and we may share your notice with them. We will confirm to you by email what we have done. Please do not send a notice you know to be false: knowingly misrepresenting a claim can carry legal consequences.
Counter-notice
If we removed something and you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address. It should include your name and contact details, a description of the material and where it appeared before removal, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith that it was removed by mistake, and your signature. It should also say that you agree to the jurisdiction of the courts where you live. We may restore the material after a reasonable period unless the original complainant tells us they have started legal action.
Repeat infringers
We may block the accounts or sources of people who repeatedly supply infringing material.
Designers and foundries: corrections and credit
You do not need a formal notice to ask us to fix a name, add a credit, update a license or change a description. Write to us and we will correct it quickly.
