Font Installation Guide

After downloading a font you need to install it before desktop programs such as Word, Photoshop or Figma can use it. If the download is a ZIP file, extract it first.

Windows 10 and 11

  1. Extract the ZIP file.
  2. Right-click a .ttf or .otf file and choose Install (or Install for all users).
  3. Restart the program you want to use the font in.

macOS

  1. Extract the ZIP file.
  2. Double-click the font file to open Font Book.
  3. Click Install Font.

Linux

Copy the font files to ~/.local/share/fonts/ and run fc-cache -f, then restart your application.

Using a font on a website

For websites, WOFF2 is the best format. Load it with @font-face and check the license allows web embedding. Fonts under the SIL Open Font License do.

Troubleshooting

  • The font does not appear: close and reopen the program.
  • Several styles are listed: Regular, Bold and Italic are separate files, install each one you need.
