About Yrsa

Yrsa is a serif typeface by Rosetta, Anna Giedryś, David Březina. Serif fonts have small finishing strokes at the ends of letterforms, making them a familiar choice for reading-focused layouts, editorial content, and longer passages of text. The style can also suit headings and other typography where a traditional serif appearance is appropriate.

This Yrsa font release includes Variable and Italic Variable styles, both listed at weight 400. These options provide upright and italic forms for different text treatments. The supported scripts are Latin, Latin Extended, and Vietnamese, making the family suitable for text written in these scripts.

The font is available in TTF and WOFF2 formats for supported desktop and web workflows. You can preview your own text on Fonts1 to examine how the characters appear before choosing a file to download. The release contains 877 glyphs and is distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1.

Use Yrsa on your website

Copy the CSS below. Option B needs the font files uploaded to a fonts/ folder on your own server first.

Option A: use the font directly from Fonts1 (no upload needed)

@font-face {
  font-family: 'Yrsa';
  src: url('https://files.fonts1.com/fonts1/fonts/3081/1adc165adf-yrsa-wght.woff2') format('woff2');
  font-weight: 400;
  font-style: normal;
  font-display: swap;
}

@font-face {
  font-family: 'Yrsa';
  src: url('https://files.fonts1.com/fonts1/fonts/3081/cd03c7c3f1-yrsa-italic-wght.woff2') format('woff2');
  font-weight: 400;
  font-style: italic;
  font-display: swap;
}

Quickest way to try it. For a busy production site, Option B (your own server) is more reliable.

Option B: self-host (download, then upload to your server)

@font-face {
  font-family: 'Yrsa';
  src: url('fonts/Yrsa-wght-.woff2') format('woff2');
  font-weight: 400;
  font-style: normal;
  font-display: swap;
}

  font-display: swap;
}

Fonts that pair well with Yrsa

Good design mixes two or three fonts. These are picked from a different style (a clean sans next to a script, a serif next to a sans) so they stay easy to tell apart and cover the same language.
