About Volkhov

Volkhov is a serif typeface created by Cyreal. Serif fonts feature small finishing strokes on letters and are commonly used for books, editorial layouts, body text, and headings. They can help establish a traditional typographic feel across print and digital designs.

This family includes four styles: Regular (400), Bold (700), Regular Italic (400), and Bold Italic (700). These options let you create contrast between standard text, emphasized passages, and prominent headings without changing typeface families.

Volkhov supports the Latin script and contains 225 glyphs in its largest font file. It is available in TTF and WOFF2 formats, making it suitable for compatible desktop design tools and web projects. Preview your own text to compare the regular, bold, and italic styles before choosing a file.

The typeface is licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which permits commercial use subject to its terms. Review the license conditions when using or redistributing the font files.

Use Volkhov on your website

Copy the CSS below. Option B needs the font files uploaded to a fonts/ folder on your own server first.

Option A: use the font directly from Fonts1 (no upload needed)

@font-face {
  font-family: 'Volkhov';
  src: url('https://files.fonts1.com/fonts1/fonts/3035/6f8e20390c-volkhov-regular.woff2') format('woff2');
  font-weight: 400;
  font-style: normal;
  font-display: swap;
}

  font-weight: 700;
  font-style: normal;
  font-display: swap;
}

  font-weight: 700;
  font-style: italic;
  font-display: swap;
}

Quickest way to try it. For a busy production site, Option B (your own server) is more reliable.

Option B: self-host (download, then upload to your server)

  font-family: 'Volkhov';
  src: url('fonts/Volkhov-Regular.woff2') format('woff2');
  font-weight: 400;
  font-style: normal;
  font-display: swap;
}

@font-face {
  font-family: 'Volkhov';
  src: url('fonts/Volkhov-Bold.woff2') format('woff2');
  font-weight: 700;
  font-style: normal;
  font-display: swap;
}

@font-face {
  font-family: 'Volkhov';
  src: url('fonts/Volkhov-Italic.woff2') format('woff2');
  font-weight: 400;
  font-style: italic;
  font-display: swap;
}

@font-face {
  font-family: 'Volkhov';
  src: url('fonts/Volkhov-BoldItalic.woff2') format('woff2');
  font-weight: 700;
  font-style: italic;
  font-display: swap;
}

2. Apply it

Fonts that pair well with Volkhov

Good design mixes two or three fonts. These are picked from a different style (a clean sans next to a script, a serif next to a sans) so they stay easy to tell apart and cover the same language.
