About Vast Shadow

Vast Shadow is a serif font designed by Nicole Fally. Serif typefaces feature small strokes at the ends of letterforms, making them a familiar choice for editorial layouts, titles, and printed materials. Its display-oriented category also makes it an option to explore for projects that need a distinctive typographic presence.

This family includes one style: Regular at weight 400. It supports the Latin script, making it suitable for text written with Latin characters. The available font files are TTF and WOFF2, providing formats for different design and web workflows.

The release contains 235 glyphs. You can preview your own text to check how the letters appear before choosing a file. Vast Shadow is distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which permits commercial use subject to the license terms. Review the license conditions when using or sharing the font.

Use Vast Shadow on your website

Copy the CSS below. Option B needs the font files uploaded to a fonts/ folder on your own server first.

Option A: use the font directly from Fonts1 (no upload needed)

@font-face {
  font-family: 'Vast Shadow';
  src: url('https://files.fonts1.com/fonts1/fonts/3023/e3be2f180c-vastshadow-regular.woff2') format('woff2');
  font-weight: 400;
  font-style: normal;
  font-display: swap;
}

Quickest way to try it. For a busy production site, Option B (your own server) is more reliable.

Option B: self-host (download, then upload to your server)

@font-face {
  font-family: 'Vast Shadow';
  src: url('fonts/VastShadow-Regular.woff2') format('woff2');
  font-weight: 400;
  font-style: normal;
  font-display: swap;
}

2. Apply it

body {
  font-family: 'Vast Shadow', serif;
}

Fonts that pair well with Vast Shadow

Good design mixes two or three fonts. These are picked from a different style (a clean sans next to a script, a serif next to a sans) so they stay easy to tell apart and cover the same language.
