About Workbench

Workbench font is a monospace typeface by Jens Kutílek. Monospace fonts give each character the same horizontal space, creating an orderly, consistent text layout. This makes the category useful for code, terminal-style text, technical content and designs that benefit from aligned characters.

This release includes one style: Variable (weight 400). Its variable format can be used in compatible applications that support variable fonts.

Workbench supports the Latin script and contains 237 glyphs. The font is available in TTF and WOFF2 formats, offering file options for desktop use and web typography.

It is distributed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which permits commercial use under its terms. Review the license conditions when using or sharing the files.

Use Workbench on your website

Copy the CSS below. Option B needs the font files uploaded to a fonts/ folder on your own server first.

Option A: use the font directly from Fonts1 (no upload needed)

@font-face {
  font-family: 'Workbench';
  src: url('https://files.fonts1.com/fonts1/fonts/3061/107a5f8191-workbench-bled-scan.woff2') format('woff2');
  font-weight: 400;
  font-style: normal;
  font-display: swap;
}

Quickest way to try it. For a busy production site, Option B (your own server) is more reliable.

Option B: self-host (download, then upload to your server)

@font-face {
  font-family: 'Workbench';
  src: url('fonts/Workbench-BLED-SCAN-.woff2') format('woff2');
  font-weight: 400;
  font-style: normal;
  font-display: swap;
}

2. Apply it

body {
  font-family: 'Workbench', monospace;
}

How to install Workbench

  1. Download the font family (ZIP) and extract it.
  2. Windows: right-click the .ttf or .otf file and choose Install. macOS: double-click the file and choose Install Font.
  3. Restart your design or office program, then pick Workbench from the font list.

Fonts that pair well with Workbench

Good design mixes two or three fonts. These are picked from a different style (a clean sans next to a script, a serif next to a sans) so they stay easy to tell apart and cover the same language.
